These are real US insects, collected in the field across the United States and sold as dried, unmounted specimens. Each specimen comes in its own data envelope with the family, common name, collection date, and the county and state where it was found, so you know exactly where your insect came from. Prices start at $3.
Collectors use our specimens to add local insects to a collection or to fill gaps with species from other states. Students use them for 4-H projects, Science Olympiad and school insect collections, where accurate locality data matters. If you need insects by state, start with the Customized to State Collection: 30 insect Kit, with 30 insects common to your state or nearby states.
Specimens are grouped by order and then by family. Choose an order below, such as Coleoptera (beetles), Diptera (flies), Hemiptera (true bugs), Hymenoptera (ants, bees and wasps) or Lepidoptera (butterflies and moths), then narrow down by family. Spiders and other relatives are under Non-insect Arthropods at the end of the list.
All specimens arrive unmounted, ready for you to relax, pin and label.
